In a large city like San Diego, most people have little contact with animals other than house pets. Children grow up seeing animals only in zoos or in video games. We offer the opportunity for parents to give their children the experience of feeding, petting and riding domesticated animals in a country atmosphere.

The Prancing Pony Country Farm is a beautiful horse ranch nestled in the hills of Ramona near San Diego. It is home to horses of all shapes, colors and sizes, a donkey, goats, chickens, doves, finches and parakeets. The Prancing Pony provides children and teens close contact with these animals for parties, educational field trips, scout merit badge classes and holiday events.

We host parties at The Prancing Pony Country Farm or we can bring our ponies and miniature horses to your home. Check our PARTIES page for our party packages.

We also provide programs for educational field trips and scouting groups seeking to qualify their members for equine-related merit badges. We are able to work with any group to provide exactly the kind of experience their members require.

Join us on one of our trail rides.  We know the best places  in the county to ride.  We walk, trot, and gallop whenever we feel like it.  We will bring a horse selected for your size and ability for $50 for a ride that will last from two to three hours.
